Factory Details

The 1982 Chevrolet Corvette featured a unique 5.7L (350ci) L83 "Cross-Fire" V8 engine with dual throttle-body injection, producing 400 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque. As the final C3 model, it was only available with a 4-speed automatic transmission and introduced better fuel efficiency and improved throttle response over previous years. 

Key 1982 Corvette Crossfire Details

• Engine & Fuel Injection: The L83 V8 used two 48mm throttle-body units (GM# 17083055) mounted on a special intake manifold, flowing 750 cfm.
• Performance: 0–60 mph in 7.9 seconds and 1/4 mile in 16.1 seconds.
• Transmission: A 700-R4 four-speed automatic was standard, which included a fourth-gear overdrive for improved highway economy.
